Portals are access points to multiple collections. They allow you to share multiple collections with one URL. Portal options that are available depend on your subscription level.
Default and Custom Portals
The default portal is your domain name (i.e., company.smartimage.com) and provides access to the collections you’ve created. The default portal can be public, private or private and password-protected. If you’re in the Basic plan, a default portal is provided for you.
The custom portal is your domain name with a customized URL. If you’re in the Team or Multi-brand plans, you can create custom portals in addition to your default portal. You can create as many custom portals as you’d like.
Custom portals can:
Be public, private or private and password-protected
Have a custom URL applied
In the Team subscription level, you can only customize the name and URL of default portal.
In the Multi-brand subscription level, you can customize the name and URL for both the default and custom portals.
Customizing Portal URLs
The path of a portal URL can be customized. For example, if your portal URL is https://images.smartimage.com/abcd1234, the URL can be customized to https://images.smartimage.com/my-custom-portal, where the “my-custom-portal” is whatever you choose.
Team clients can customize the URL for their default portal on the Portal Links page.
Multi-brand clients can customize URLs for default portals and when creating custom portals. URLs can be customized by clicking the pencil icon when creating a new portal or by clicking Edit URL for the portal on the Portal Links page from Manage > Portals.
Using URLs You Own
If your Smartimage URL is a vanity URL that you or your company owns, when creating a portal, you can customize the portal to something like https://images.mycompany.com by clicking Use a URL I Own.
Team clients can customize a URL they own on the Portal Links page.
Multi-brand clients can customize a URL they own when creating a new portal or from the Portal Links page.
