Individual files, groups of files from within collections, and entire collections can be shared to social media. We currently offer social sharing to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Individual files in public and private collections can be shared from Smartimage to social media sites. For public collections, you can select files from within a collection to share or share the entire collection to Facebook.
To share files within a public or private collection to social media, you must first link your social media account to your Smartimage account.
Files shared to social media will be automatically resized so they're visually optimized for the site they're shared to. Within a collection, automatic resizing of files shared to social media can be disabled in Collection Settings > Available Actions > Downloads for Social Media.
To share an individual file within a public or private collection to social media, click Share > Social, then select the social media site to share to. You will be presented with different sharing options based on the social media site. The file can be cropped, and you can zoom in and out on it, rotate it, flip it horizontally or vertically, and select a background color before sharing.
For Facebook and Twitter, public and private collection files can be cropped and shared or cropped and downloaded. When Crop and Share is selected, the file will be shared directly to the social media site. You can also add text to share to Facebook or tweet text to Twitter. When Crop and Download is selected, the file will be downloaded to your computer.
For Instagram, public and private collection files can only be cropped and downloaded.
For analytics purposes, a file is considered a shared file when Crop and Share or Crop and Download is selected on the Social Media Sharing screen.
After clicking Crop and Share or Crop and Download, the file will be automatically resized and converted to be optimized for the social media site. The file size, format, and positioning, as well as any cropping made, will be applied.
You will be notified when files have been published to social media sites.
